Our approach to lyric content
LyricHunt is a lyric-guessing game, not a lyrics-hosting service. By design:
- players are only ever shown masked, partial lyric fragments — words hidden until correctly guessed, revealed one at a time during active gameplay;
- the App does not provide any screen, endpoint, or export path that returns a complete, unmasked song's lyrics to a player;
- a small number of narrowly-scoped exceptions exist purely to support core gameplay (for example, a short teaser of an already-played song on the home screen, and tutorial hints) — each is limited to a handful of words and never reproduces a song's lyrics in full;
- lyric fragments used for masking are sourced at request time from third-party public APIs that provide community-contributed or licensed lyric text. We do not independently verify the rights-clearance status of every upstream source, and lyric text is never persisted in a form accessible to players beyond the masked gameplay experience described above.
Song titles, artist names, and album artwork displayed in the App are used solely to identify tracks, consistent with standard catalog/metadata use.
Notice and takedown
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on a copyright owner's behalf, and you believe that content accessible through LyricHunt infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to:
dmca@lyrichunt.org
To be effective, your notice should include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (song title, artist, and, if possible, a link to an authoritative source for the work).
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it within the App (e.g. the song title/artist as it appears in LyricHunt).
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Our response
On receipt of a valid notice, we will:
- promptly investigate the notice;
- where warranted, remove or disable the disputed content (for example, excluding the specific song from lyric-masking gameplay) while the matter is resolved;
- notify the affected party where practicable.
Counter-notice
If you believe content was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to dmca@lyrichunt.org including:
- Identification of the content that was removed and its location in the App prior to removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction described in our Terms of Service.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Attribution
Lyric fragments used for gameplay masking are sourced via LRCLIB (community) and other third-party public lyric APIs. All lyrics remain the property of their respective rights holders.
